About the Creator and Designer
Matthias Herzog, Founder and CEO of DUKE PRODUCT LINE, believes collaboration is the answer to making new products and finding solutions to everyday problems. Trained in Switzerland as a Mercedes Benz Mechanic, computer technology, and earned an MBA, Matthias Herzog moved to the U.S. and has worked in all aspects of the solar energy industry, from project development to
sales. Identifying, improving, and inventing new products is his passion.
As a fifteen-year resident in a hurricane and flood prone area, I have experienced countless major storm surges and flooding to my home and property. In order to protect my home and belongings, I have tried everything to keep the water out. Sandbags are heavy, dirty and often not available when you need them the most. Duct tape helps keep the water out but when removed it creates extensive damage on the building surface and leaves a sticky residue. I tried using silicon caulk on my doors and windows and it worked but could never be completely removed. I became determined to find a solution that was cheap, fast, and easy to remove. I wondered why I couldn’t find a tape wide enough to cover hinges and large gaps, strong enough to hold rushing and standing water out, and easily removable leaving my property undamaged. I could not find it – So I invented it!
